Description: An important product of the FRIO Corridors Program is the compilation of a geospatially-enabled database recording potential restrictions on movement of modern railcars along the FRIO corridors. This is the Restriction Location Database and its objectives are: Organization and presentation of data compiled from multiple sources in a unified format for simple data retrieval; Recordation, in database format, of all characteristics of each restriction location relevant to its potential remediation, with salient characteristics (including estimated costs) linked to individual locations; Providing a record of the historic baseline condition of the restrictions on the FRIO rail lines as of the time of the study, including associated information such as photographs and track charts; Providing a basis for planning, costing and other analysis by segment; Providing a basis for mapping and other visual displays to communicate the issues to rail operators, rail shippers, government agencies and the public.
